Tamar Hoapili, Community Outreach and Video Production Manger, Cox Communications Las Vegas, thrilled five southern Nevada Cox GoalGetters with $1000 scholarships. The scholarships, provided by Cox Communications, were presented to the wiinning Cox GoalGetters at the Sunset Galleria Back-to-School Fair, August 2004. More than 1,000 K-12 students entered the scholarship competition by writing to Cox GoalGetters about their goals.

GIBSON'S STUDENTS RECEIVE A BIG COX GOALGETTERS SURPRISE!
When students in Ms. Anderson's 5th grade Gibson Elementary School class were asked to star in a Cox GoalGetters commercial, they were expecting only to see themselves on television. Little did they know that Cox GoalGetters Spokesperson Steve Schorr, had another special surprise in mind.

The students were shocked when Mr. Schorr walked into their classroom to preview their commercials…with a brand new TV/VCR combo!
NOTE: Karolyn Riendeau (back right), former Cox Media Account Executive, arranged photo and commercial shoot. She also taught the class for one hour per week for six weeks combining the Cox Communications commitment to GoalGetters and Junior Achievement.

The Gibson students presented Mr. Schorr with "thank you" cards and previewed their commercials which air on multiple cable networks.
